Image File Types That Support Transparency. All can support transparent images but each is slightly different. While conserving the transparency i need to convert it to cmyk but i am having trouble finding a file format that will accomodate both of my needs cmyk and transparency.

Webp is another emerging image format with support for transparency.
This includes eps and wmf for vector graphics this may not strictly be seen as transparency but it requires much of the same. The other benefit of png files are that they allow for partial effects like drop shadows or total transparency which is ideal for overlays or logos.
